Go See: Lion City, China’s Atlantis

More than half a century ago, China’s ancient Lion City, also known as Shi Cheng, was flooded to make way for the Xin-an River dam project. A lake was created and beneath it lies  the ruins of Lion City, about the size of 62 football fields. Archaeologists who attempted the first underwater exploration in 2001 discovered the astonishing preservation of the ruins and dubbed it China’s Atlantis rediscovered.
