Stunning Melbourne Coworking Space For Creative Entrepreneurs

I spent 6 months searching for the right building, studying through Marie Forleo’s B-School and attending Clare Bowditch’s Big-Hearted Business unconference. It all came together when I signed the lease on 421 Lygon St Brunswick East on 1st July 2014 and registered an ABN for The Cowork Collective. Until that moment, and even now, I’m not quite sure where the courage came from other than from a place inside me that knew this was the sweet spot between what I wanted to do, where my talents lay and where I could make a meaningful contribution to others.

Doors opened 1st December 2014 and after a couple of months of tweaking we formally launch on 19th Feb 2015 (everyone is invited!). In the beginning I was my muse, with the motivation for The Cowork Collective being my desire to create a dream workspace that was endlessly inspiring, perfect for client meetings and collaboration, able to host workshops and events, and in a fantastic location in Melbourne’s inner north. Once the doors opened, my focus has been on listening and responding to our audience, adapting our offer to best suit their needs. Hence our move toward creating and curating courses in our soon to launch Get Started and Get Creative series.

… this was the sweet spot between what I wanted to do, where my talents lay and where I could make a meaningful contribution to others.

Robelen: How does it work?

Bec: We offer coworking memberships in three tiers: 1-2 days a week, 3-4 days a week and 5 days a week – members have their own key, pay rent month to month in advance and enjoy lots of added benefits like complimentary meeting room use and discounted workshop and event space bookings
We also offer a Friends membership for people wanting to be part of the The Cowork Collective family, use the coworking space hot desks, book meeting rooms and the workshop and event space, and engage in our community and business building events.

Robelen: How is it different to other coworking spaces?

Bec: It’s really designed on a boutique scale, as a home away from home, with diverse spaces to allow for concentrated work, collaboration and contemplation. Our coworking community is intentionally small so everyone has a sense of belonging, and our friends community is diverse and inspiring.
