“I Wanted to Quit My Day Job.” Bec Derrington

In early 2010, I quit my day job to follow my dreams, let my hair down and explore new things. It was a bumpy ride with lots of twists and turns, setbacks and roundabouts. Definitely not one for the faint of heart.

But I managed to pull off a trick or two: I won a national title at the 2010 Australian Dancesport Championships, bought a farm in the tropics, helped entrepreneurs launch their startups from my spare room, and created and launched woman.com.au. Read my story here.

There’s lots more brewing but it all started because I was driven by one thing: to quit my day job and live life on my terms. The journey has not been easy but the dream continues to take shape every single day.

Which brings me to Bec Derrington, founder of Sourcebottle.

If you’re looking for a boost, an inspiration or just a little nudge to start making things happen, watch her video below. Bec chats with The Peter Montgomery show and shares what drove her to create Sourcebottle.
